About Spells & Guns

WE LIKE BUILDING WIKIS.

Spells & Guns is an independent network of community wikis for games worth playing. We use AI to do the grunt work — extraction, scaffolding, the boring 80% — and humans to write the strategy, judgment, and voice that actually makes a wiki worth reading. No publisher owns us. No algorithm sets our priorities. We pick games we want to play, then we build the wiki we wish existed.

Quick Facts

TEAM

4 humans · part-time editors per wiki

We hire from inside the playerbase — most of our editors found us by playing the games we cover.

HOSTING

Hetzner · Tailscale mesh

Three boxes in one region. No third-party CDN gating reads. We own the stack end to end.

LICENSE

CC BY-SA 4.0

Every wiki page is community-edited and free to remix with attribution. Same license MediaWiki ships with.

CONTACT

via /request

Public Discord invite is on the way. Until then, the request form is the fastest path to a real human.

REVENUE

Planned: ads + affiliate · never paywalls

Zero login walls, zero "sign up to read this" gates — that part is permanent. Ad and affiliate placement comes once we have wikis to monetize.

STATUS

Public status pill · planned

We'll wire a real uptime check soon. Until then the footer's pill is a placeholder, not a live signal.

EDITOR ONBOARDING

Self-serve · sign in & edit

Sign in once with Discord on the dashboard today; cross-wiki SSO is in flight (you'll log in once and edit anywhere).

EMPATHICAL

AI helps. Humans decide.

We use Claude to draft and extract, but every page is reviewed by someone who has actually played the game. No drive-by AI slop.
